Vierlande samplers are probably among the most recognizable styles of German samplers. Large numbers of bold motifs (such as large potted trees, circular geometric rosettes, and scattered alphabets) might create a chaotic sampler. Because the samplers are worked in a single colour, a calm, balanced image results.
