Lao Tzu’s Tao Te Ching holds many wisdoms and wonderful quotes, but one has always stuck with me: “A Good Traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving”. Back in 1997, I came across this quote in the liner notes of The Book of Secrets, an album by Canadian singer and songwriter Loreena McKennitt. I feel that this quote holds true for me - not that I want to call myself a good traveler, but I certainly have not made any big plans in my life, and most of the things that have happened (both good and bad) have come unexpectedly onto my path. My decision to become a designer of cross-stitch charts was never intended, but organically occurred and has allowed me to travel and meet all kinds of wonderful people.
