Quintessential Frisian Smalls - a collaboration project and 6-month SAL with Evertote and Roxy Floss starting August 1st, 2025! Hosted by Caroline of Evertote, join us as we stitch and fully finish our way through these lovely designs constructed by Jacob of Modern Folk Embroidery.
An information sheet will be sent to you via e-mail with details on necessary supplies, timelines, link to the SAL-exclusive Facebook group, etc.
The Chart Only Option Includes:
- A large booklet with five charted smalls, including instructions and diagrams for all of the finishing techniques (also includes free access to a PDF copy)
- Access to exclusive video tutorials by Jacob of Modern Folk Embroidery for finishing the smalls
A note on floss quantities:
The smalls are charted monochromatically and were stitched with Roxy Floss Co Falu Red, however, you are welcome to choose any colour you like.
- If you plan to stitch these smalls 1 over 2, you will need 5 skeins of floss.
- If you plan to stitch these smalls 2 over 2, you will need 8 skeins of floss.
A note on fabric quantities:
Jacob's models were stitched on a tea-dyed linen similar to Roxy Floss Co Porcelain, however, you are welcome to choose any colour you like.
- If you plan to stitch these smalls on aida, you will need a half yard (20x36in)
- If you plan to stitch these smalls on linen, you will need a wide quarter (18x26in)
Each month (starting August 1st) you will be learning new techniques. Since December is reserved for the Holiday Countdown (also with Evertote and Roxy Floss), we are skipping that month, to continue the fifth project from the 1st of January 2026.

November: A Hindeloopen Pinwheel 1722
Size: 53 x 53, plus band 15 high x 168 long
Techniques learned: assembling 3D pinwheel
January: A Hindeloopen Strawberry 1795
Size: 132 wide x 66 high
Techniques learned: making and attaching tassel
