Modern Folk Embroidery, Evertote, and Roxy Floss Co - Quintessential Frisian Smalls Box

Quintessential Frisian Smalls - a collaboration project and 6-month SAL with Evertote and Roxy Floss starting August 1st, 2025! Hosted by Caroline of Evertote, join us as we stitch and fully finish our way through these lovely designs constructed by Jacob of Modern Folk Embroidery.

An information sheet will be sent to you via e-mail with details on necessary supplies, timelines, link to the SAL-exclusive Facebook group, etc. 

The Quintessential Frisian Smalls Box Includes:

• A large booklet with five charted smalls, including instructions and diagrams for all of the finishing techniques (also includes free access to a PDF copy)
• Access to exclusive video tutorials by Jacob of Modern Folk Embroidery for finishing the smalls
  
• Your choice of Roxy Floss Co Aida or Linen in the colour "Porcelain":
  • 16, 18, or 20ct Aida will receive a half yard (20x36in)
  • 28, 32, 36, 40, or 46ct Linen will receive a wide quarter (18x26in)
• Your choice of Roxy Floss Co Floss:
  • Falu Red
  • Great Lakes
  • Chalkboard 
• A small thread bed
• Other surprise extras!

A note on floss quantities: 

• If you select 16 or 18ct Aida, you will receive floss for stitching 2 over 1
• If you select 20ct Aida, you will receive floss for stitching 1 over 1
• If you select 28 or 32ct Linen, you will receive floss for stitching 2 over 2
• If you select 36, 40, or 46ct Linen, you will receive floss for stitching 1 over 2
• Should you wish to stitch with 2 strands on either 20ct Aida or 36ct Linen, you will need to purchase 3 additional skeins of your chosen floss colour.

Each month (starting August 1st) you will be learning new techniques. Since December is reserved for the Holiday Countdown (also with Evertote and Roxy Floss), we are skipping that month, to continue the fifth project from the 1st of January 2026.

Techniques learned: making chord and attaching it to finished piece

October: Biscornu 1754
Size: 57 x 57
Techniques learned: assembling biscornu

November: A Hindeloopen Pinwheel 1722
Size: 53 x 53, plus band 15 high x 168 long
Techniques learned: assembling 3D pinwheel

January: A Hindeloopen Strawberry 1795
Size: 132 wide x 66 high
Techniques learned: making and attaching tassel

A note on fabric availability: If your preferred fabric/floss is sold out, do not fret. Send Hannah an e-mail and she can switch it for you. We kindly ask that any change in fabric choice be communicated to us by June 1, 2025 to ensure adequate availability.
