A physical booklet chart of the Modern Folk Embroidery's "Under the Stars"!
From Jacob:
"This design was inspired by the beautiful traditional woven coverlets from the US and Canada. I fell in love with coverlets back in 2020, and have since added a (large fragment of a) very colourful coverlet to my collection of historical textiles. Initially this pattern was intended to be a larger design to be woven as an actual coverlet, but due to logistic difficulties that plan was shelved. I recently came across the design again, and decided to turn it into a large cross stitch design!"
TECHNICAL DETAILS
When worked precisely as per the pattern, the design measures 281 crosses in width and 557 crosses in height and has a total of 53585 crosses. Stitched over two threads on 32 count linen (or over one on 16 count Aida), it would measure approximately 17 1/2” by 34 7/8” (44.5 x 88.5cm). When working with two pulled strands of floss from an 8-yard hank, you’d need a minimum of 30 to complete this project.
The pattern is split over 20 pages. After the 1st pattern page, you will notice a 3-cross high or wide greyed out area. This indicates an overlap from the previous page(s) and is there to help you continue your work on a new page.
You can choose to stitch this design with one colour as charted or use various colours. Although you are free to pick any colour and cloth combination, I can highly recommend my favourite new floss company, Roxy Floss Co in Canada, exclusively available throughwww.evertote.ca (that's us!!)
Chart measures 557 stitches high and 281 stitches wide for a total of 53,585 stitches.
